hi there i am from the london area and every year for the past 17 years we have been going to restoule provincial park. By all accounts it would fit your bill. it is a provincial park very clean, the sites are large very private and well treed, without any of the big crowds you get in other parks like killbear, balsam, six mile. The fishing is excellent for walleye, smallmouth, musky and lakers. The pike are there but just not plentiful and the ones you catch tend to be in the 8-10lb range. there are lots of musky, big musky. They also have a group camping area where you can have as many as you like on the site. It is right on the water to beach your boat. The lakes are small and your boat could handle them on the windy days. I use to travel every summer to try different parks til i tried restoule and have been back every year since. There is a supply store, beer store, gas and marina in the town and you are only about 45 minutes to North bay.It is 5.5 hours from london so tack on about 2 more for you.

You can't go wrong with either! Both have lots on sites right on the water! If you made me choose I'd go with Sharbot Lake! If you choose to go there you want site #121. It is a beautiful site located on a point jutting out into Black Lake which is the smaller lake within the park. Black Lake has good Smallmouth fishing, some giant Walleyes(we've caught many double digit fish there), lots of Pike and Crappies to boot! It is small so it never gets rough and is pretty easy to figure out!
Enjoy!
Dave
Enjoy!

How far is Algonquin from you? That's a COOL experience, especially if you want to get a couple of canoes and portage. Family needs to rough it, though, if you guys are up for it.
GOOD LUCK.

Jebby, if you are interested in camping on the Quebec side. Taylor Lake just outside Ottawa is nice. It is located in Gatineau Park. I am not sure if motorized boats are allowed. Anyways here is the link. If you click on the site number on the page, it shows you an actual photo of the site. There is also Leslie Lake. It has a beautiful beach. Not sure about the fish though, as I didn't have a boat when I camped there. It says that it is stocked with trout. And as far as privacy goes..well it is not that private. But still nice. They have a new website. They have a group camping that is more private. You have your own lake! Can't get anymore private than that.

Jeb
Im a big family camping guy myself, we travel about 2X a month somewhere all summer long....Ive been to many nice places and unlike you I prefer not to go to prov parks,I like water and showers and hydro at all my places(some prov dont offer all those)
Im going to Opeongo Mountain Resort this summer, its in Lake Clear (Egansville near pembroke maybe too far?) but many guys at this board have raved about fishing in this lake, the price is right (about $150 a week wow!!),they have a ghost walk on Sat night, marina service, restaurant on site, also golf course near by,ATV tours, caves, white water rafting and horse back riding all close by and Im told GREAT fishing!!! Pike, bass, trout and walleye you cant beat those 4 species....

also, Bon Echo is a GREAT prov park (north of Napanee) on mazinaw lake,a beautiful lake ,also features over 260 native pictographs – the largest visible collection in Canada.read about it here (book early)
