As someone in sales Greg I would never make fun of prospects...If you were upfront and honest with us you may have had some people interested. When you say that this is not a gimmick to make money and obviously it is people get there backs up. Try being honest next time and see what happens...I hope you don't starve trying to make sales.
Hi Greg, my name is Jeff, pleased to meet you. I am seriously interested in your knowledge and techniques. I have dreamed of a meeting a mentor who can catch fish 100% of the time. Teach me Greg, please, teach me your ways. Can we go fishing sometime? I would be honored!
I can think of nothing better than to fish with a pioneer such as yourself and trust me I will be acting fast on this book as I do not want to be one of those suckers who dont get a copy because of the under-staffed website.
Now take your lame sales pitch and your BS somewhere else. There are too many good people on this site for me to sit back and watch a punk wannabe salesman sling petty, childish insults at a group of mature, harmless anglers.
I can guarantee u this, if you were to come fishing with me, I would be a lonely man on the way back to the launch....you in?

OK, OK, enough guys.
Gregory_fisher, I think the reason why you are being jumped on here is the fact that you used this site to "trick" people into clicking on a link and reading a sales pitch, which earns you money for every click. If you had read the code of conduct for this site, you would know that this type of posting is not allowed, and strongly frowned upon, particularly in a world where SPAM is out of control, special security features are required to control usernames and robots, link exchanges need to be validated against free advertising and pornography, and if nothing was done, this site (and others) would be riddled with crap, SPAM, public service announcements, information that no one cares about, and ads for products and services that are garbage.
The community here doesn't want that, and we try really hard to make sure this doesn't happen. At the same time, it is often taken a little too far, to the point where people sometimes unfortunately get defensive and perhaps a little abusive.
The proper course of action would have been to ensure you understood the code of conduct, and asked permission to use the forums here in order to promote this book of yours. I would have looked into it and determined whether or not I felt is was legit, and something I would like this site to be associated with. I don't support products that I don't believe in. In fact, I have turned away a few requests for advertising because I was just not convinced the product was a good one for me...or the community upon which I'd be promoting the product to. That means I turned away cash. I don't advertise or announce the fact that this site earns money when people click on the Google Adsense ads, or the Boaters Exam. It is their choice to do so if they are interested in it.
Not being up front with people, and not taking the time to really understand the code of conduct that you were asked to read prior to agreeing to using these forums, is the reason why you are getting such response.
I will remove the link from the first post, lock this thread, and let's consider this a learning experience for those who may not have read our <a herf="http://fish-hawk.net/hawktalk/viewtopic ... 2548">Code of Conduct</a>. This includes those who may have responded harshly to this situation. A simple response indicating "Advertisement" and a PM to me would have been sufficient.
Carry on......
