Reversing the Head on Minn Kota trollers

Post by BronzeBack »

I have a 40lbs Minn Kota troller that is a transom mount. We now have a new Sylvan boat with a cut away transom...which means no more mounting the troller on the back. Anybody know if (and how) I can reverse the 'head' on the motor to make it a bow mount?

I've done this a number of times. All it is is a bolt or pin, depending on the age of the motor, that you remove to rotate the head. Very easy to do.

I figured it was easy as it looks it. I guess I am just looking for reassurance that I won't do any damage to the motor by reversing the head. Guess I'll give it a go this weekend.
