Results: Wednesday paddling: fishing Contance Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Results: Wednesday paddling: fishing Contance Lake

Post by YakAttack »

I'm heading to Constance Lake again after work tomorrow (wednesday) to do some kayak fishing. :D

If any other paddlers want to join me, I'll be there between 5 and 5:30, launching from the end of Berry Side Road. 8)

If anybody happens to be attacking a different body of water, I'm open to changing my plans to join you! :D

Hey Scott,

I was all set to go today but then realized I have a med. appointment this evening :( Not sure the weather will cooperate today but if you get out, good luck! Any chance you can get out on the weekend? :)

I'm heading out tonight rain or shine, but not if lightening strikes!

Yup, I'm going out either saturday or sunday. Do you have a place in mind? 8)

Is there a place to launch on berry sord road ? Are they all private property by the lake ? I always launch my canoe on the other side of the lake and pay $5 for parking in front of the resturant.

Yeah, let us know how you made out Scott - looks like the weather was OK after all.

Joco: you'll never, ever *really* finish rigging  I thought I was done last summer but I'm tweaking and adding stuff again this year! It never ends! :D

Yup, the weather held up great, infact the sun and blue sky made an appearance. The lake was a pane of glass by the end of the evening. I believe I was the only one on the lake as well. 8)

I caught 4 hammer handles, and one (my first ever) crappy...never figured I'd catch crappy on a 4" jointed hard bait. :)

zick: I don't know if you'd call it a launch (at the end of Berry road), but it is a public access point for the lake (a sign says so!). You can launch your canoe there no problem. There is a small place for parking too.

Thanks for the info about public access. The crappie in the lake are aggressive. I was attacking them in the winter using traditional crappie lures (tubes , wax warms ) with no luck until I put on live minnows, man those fish are crazy, one even swallowed my 3 inch swedish-pimple with the minnow on it.

The hammer handle pike are fun to catch too. I can't wait to hit the lake after the thunder storm season

Good job, you're making the most of the season with that 'yak! Next you've gotta hook up a tripod on the front so you can take your own digital pictures!
