Afternoon All,
Could anyone advise whether there is public access/boat launch to Farren (Farrell) Lake. I was there 20 or so years ago, but was visiting some folks who had a cottage, so it was possible to put in a boat. I was checking the Fishing Ontario book, which is a few years old, and there is no mention of access to the public.... hoping it has changed.
Thanks,
B.

Farren lake
Hey Braeside, This lake is one of those lakes that "technically" you should be able to launch a canoe or small car-topper from the side of the road. However, the local cottagers have a different opinion. I fished it twice, a few years back and both times I was confronted and told that the land between the road and the lake was private. Fearing worse concequences, I've never gone back. There is a beautiful launch right there at the roadside but there is a chain across it and a sign that states that it is on private property,(which it is.)It's also very tricky to park anywhere near the lake access point. Narrow shoulders and deep ditches along the roads.
Hope this helps.
BTW; The Bass fishing is pretty good!

Farren lake access
Hey SD,
Many thanks for the response. I got a phone call from a chap about the lake, and he said the same. Funny how "private" gets so nasty these days..I thought this was Ontario, "yours to discover"....
