Fishing/boating in Quebec

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Your boat is registered federally not by the province. I fish on the Quebec side a lot and have never had a problem, in fact have never had any boat related questions asked other than if I had the proper safety kit onboard.
There may be specific rules laid down in specific waterways but nothing at the provicial level that I have seen or hear about.

Good luck

Fishing and boating in Quebec.

It may be stating the obvious but by a Quebec licence.

Also many Quebec lakes do not allow minnows so check the regs for your specific area.

Bucket Bass one other point. Due to the VHS virus within the great lakes and St Lawrence river that is affecting the minnows and some game fish species. You are not allowed to bring live minnows into the province period. (Solely for the prevention of possible transferring/spreading VHS within the province water sytem) If you are fishing a lake or river within the province of Quebec that allows live bait (minnows), you have to purchase the minnows within the province of Quebec .

Cheers, Frank
