'07 Bass Opener

Post by Swamp-Donkey »

Ahh, Bass season is finally here! Man was it chilly opening morning. It was like 6 degrees when I left my cottage at 4 am. I don't ever recall it ever being that cold for the opening of Bass season? It made for some tough fishing. Couldn't really get on a consistent pattern, got piles of smaller bass on just about everything I threw, the bigger fish that day however, just wern't co-operating. At the end of it all, I managed to muster up a few nice fish. They were all caught on spinnerbaits.

I was fishin solo this day and this was my first attempt at self-photograghy  This fish I tried to "Zoom" in on a little :D
I gave up after that.

Had a great weekend and boated tons of Bass and they were all safely released. Can't wait until this weekend, We get three days to fish! :D

Cheers

Nice bucketmouths! Opener was so fun but it was indeed cold :? Glad you got into some nice ones! Way to go! How deep did you find the big ones?

Nice ones for sure. Good 'ol spinner baits. Somedays they're all you really need.

Hi ya Nodie, I got all my fish relatively shallow. The best one came off a chunk of floating bog that maybe only had a foot of water under it. I got to see it come right out and inhale my spinner-bait. Pretty cool!

Ya, I'd have to agree with ya Bobber. If I had to choose just one lure to fish with, it would definately be a spinner-bait.

Cheers
