Lac Ste-Marie

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Lac Ste-Marie

Post by twellman »

Hey,

I am headed up to a cottage on Lac Ste-marie near maniwaki this weekend. Just want to know what type of fish I should be fishing for on that lake.

there are nice walleye and killer pike in there... If you head up the north end of the lake there is a shallow bay with massive pike in there, I hooked on one and it destroyed my reel, it might have been a musky, I didn't get a good look at it, but I fought it for about 20mins and most of that my rod was bent over in half and screeming.

If you head south on the lake where the river runs into it and troll along the rock cliffs there are walleye there.

Good luck

I fished a few bass tournaments on that lake its very good for largemouth bass. Use rubber lizards, pumpkinseed/chartreuce tail is really good technique "texas style."

Good luck

there is like all species in that lake(actualy a part off the gatineau river).
you can go frome the dam in low quebec right into st marie lake.

there is one place a bit better then other its right in the channel betwen the part off the lake...there is like a place where you can tru a tunnel chape wit your boat and go on the other part off th lake,,but before that pass...........that little bay is good.

whatch out for rock accross the boat launch...the other side off the lake,,could cost you a little PROP.. :? ....

go see that lake on map google on the satelite pict..you will see that channel.

in spring its good right in front off the camping ground...cople hundreds feet frome the shore and trolls for walleye.

there some good size fish in there..frome bass walleye pike sturgeons etc.

we are waiting for the report.... :P

I'll be up in that area all of next week. Based out of Lake Henny but I'm planning on heading over to Ste. Marie mid week. Look for a grey/burgandy Lund 1625. that's me. :D
