another question for the group , has anybody got a rough idea of how much it would cost to convert a 9.9 to a 15 if it was done by a shop . I'm looking at 2 stroke's if that makes a difference .
thanks

depends

Suzuki is a carb, and and that is expensive. BUT.....
My 9.9 puts out about 25hp and I put a 93 carb on an 87 motor, ported and polished a with .030 oversize bore and Boyesen reeds. It idles down to 500 rpm and will almost hit the rev limiter at 6400 rpm. FLAWLESSLY.
I can run a 12.5 inch pitch prop and it will push my Princecraft Fisherman to almost 40mph on gps.
The cost was for the reeds and pistons the rest I wangled and got from warranty items(carb) and still have a few left.
It can be done and can be done cheaply if you have the know how and the resources.
