Are you experienced?...Sept 19/20/21...07

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Are you experienced?...Sept 19/20/21...07

Almost 365 days ago it was hard to leave an awesome experience at Lake Clear. Huddy, Sippy, Ratsotail and myself got to do the 'experience' one more time.

When we arrived to the lake at nine on the nose, the winds were up and the lake was bumpy... man I love the wind!! Got settled into camp and waited for Huddy and Sippy to show up from Tamworth with the LUND. Both boats were fishin by late morning.

I'm on board with a tube fish...life is good!

Ratsotail says life is even better!

Mid afternoon, it was back to camp for a bite to eat. Had a few good laughs as well. We were back on the water by four. Wind was still up and I complained, nobody listened. Line control was the key that evening as the wind would not lay down. Heavy jigs caught some good ones that night. The lads did quite well on smallies and eyes....Huddy did a little better than some of us as he set up shop in the middle of my drift :P :P :P :P

Image

Sippy got this 20+ incher that ended up being served with Chili.
Image

Ratsotail boated a few eyes that night as well.

Day two is just sooooooo much better in the the wind departmet. Boats are on the water before the sun is on the horizon....walleye are non existent on this morning but the topwater shines. Steve O....Do not put away those topwaters in September

Image

I lost a real beauty on a topwater as well....bad hookset and a crazy jump at the same time had me cursing and shaking my head. Boated a few more chunkers on top....

Image

Packed it in around eleven to have some bacon and egg's Huddy style. The growlies are cooked to perfection....sorry no pic's  Ratsotail heads out on a solo mission. I stayed behind to feed/stuff a duck that would not leave us alone. I spoke to this bird in a sinister-like voice about being oh soo so close to the fire pit and full of stuffing

Image

Back at it late afternoon.....conditions were perfect for topwater. Just after Ratsotail missed a 'crash', he got rewarded on the long cast...red and white I believe.

Image

I answer back with this one.

Image

The evening had a few eyes show up as well.....not the good long bite that Ratsotail was hoping for though..hahaha

Image

Off the water at dark.....back at the camp....got into a fish fry and some chilli. Some of Sippy's fingers are missing in the chilli.....did'nt find any in my bowl  The fish was outstanding!! Very tasty.

Image

The final day really, really sucked as far as the fishing was concerned. Everyone was skunked but me...I boated a nice four incher   Was the toughest day of the trip for sure.

A parting shot.

364 days and counting!

Well...well Grant! Another fine trip for sure. One thing I know with certainty is we hit the weather perfect again. Today would have been a total washout with 30-50 K winds predicted for Ottawa. It always seems to be windier around that mountain too!

I'm left with the feeling of wanting more :D :D !

Email me those pics...holding out again, eh   !

hahaha..We have until December to get this matter straightened out right!?! Would love to chase some big gurls with ya Ted, lemme know when. I'd be up for an outing, or twenty until she's done.

Thanks for the replies guys...if ya's ever get the chance to fish these smallies without going to Simcoe or Erie, I recommend it....
