Bay of Quinte 18-21

Hello everyone, my family and I are planning on coming up to the Bay of Quinte Oct. 17-21 from IL. We have never been up there but have heard many good things about this fishery. I have been hearing that this is to early for the big ones and was wondering what your guys input is? Also any tips on where to start, what to use, what depth and anything else would be great because like I said we have no idea where to start! We plan on staying near the picton area. Thank you

great place to be.If you take the ride out of picton bay past the ferry, you are in some great water.It's fairly deep and most folks fish from 15- 35ft down.
Deep down rapala tail dancers , mann's sterch minnows and a few other sorted baits will get you down to 35ft.Rapala also have a tail dancer that goes about 15 ft, as well as walleye divers etc.
Snap on weights can help as well, lead core line and downriggers can put a bait where you want it.

Sledman we will be down there at the same time. I have been told the big girls have started moving in so hopefully when we are there we will get some. All the things Patience wrote are the way to go assuming you have a boat of course . Maybe we will see you there. We will be out with Eye-Tracker on Sat in his boat, big black tracker, not easily missed and Sunday we will be in my boat, an Alumacraft with a 75 hp merc. optimax and a homemade top, not hard to find either.

I will be there from the 19th-21st Oct. We are staying at the Perfect Vue cottages. Hopefully the weather co-operates and the walleye are biting. Will be trolling east of ferry in a Legend boat. What Patience says is all good info. Check out some earlier posts about the Bay of Quinte. Lots of great info from Eye-Tracker and fellow fish hawkers. Good luck and have lots of fun!

I don't know exactly when you are arriving or where you are staying, but I'll be at the Tip of the Bay motel in Picton until about 2.00 pm on the 17th. If you arrive by that time and are in the area drop over and say hello. Also if you can find the recent fall 2007 issue of The Next Bite/ESOX Angler magazine there is an excellent article "The Bay Of Quinte’s Monster Fall Walleye" by Gary Parsons on his trip last fall. I hooked up Gary Parsons, Keith Kavejecz and Chase Parsons with the Quinte fall bite and now they talk about the amazing trophy fishery and offer up some great tips in the magazine and TV show.

spoke to a friend just today who had a friend (and they told 2 friends etc etc)who was out on holiday monday and sorry to say "it sucked"
I myself will try to chase down big stinkies, and wait a week or two till I play at the bay, unless of course I read that great things are happening.

Heading up to the bay this wekeend, rented a cottage right beside the ferry on adulphustown side...i hear the bite has started....cold weather started./.....lets have some fun.///..//
