Quinte this weekend

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hopefully most people are senseable and dont take chances. We will be out but if it is too rough we will be in more sheltered areas.

See ya there, good luck and be careful

Fished the BOQ from daylight to 1pm today from glenora ferry east. I had trouble with the main engine a 2007 115 merc opti :? loud alarm warning of no cooling water. Lucky I had a kicker. Needless to say we fished as the weather was great (no wind). Marked many bait fish schools and larger fish feeding on them? But came away with no fish caught. We fished flat lines and boards even tried jigging in active areas of fish. I did hear of one fish caught at 9lbs in around the 40ft depth mark.

As for the motor... A fellow angler from the Lindsay area said that it was possibly just a cloged up line. Sure enough it was. Once I returned home and flushed the lines with the garden hose it worked.

The winds picked up in a hurry at 1pm and it was nerve racking to say the least getting my 18' Legend up and on the trailer with only the use of a 8hp kicker. Oh well I guess that was the highlight of the trip.

Im sure I seen Eye-tracker pass us heading east to lake ontario.

BTW - Water temp at surface was 59

Was a great day out there today, saw you out there 1lastcast, we were running out towards the lake as well, but no fish out there. There are fish around though and lots of em. It took some searching but we found several nice large schools. We got two over 10+ , my buddy got one hog that weighed 12.2lbs and I got one earlier in the day weighing 11.3lbs.

It was a tough day, hard to find a pattern that worked. There really was no set pattern, we tried 5 different types of lures at different depths, colours, long lining, boards and lead core and it just seemed they were not particular to any specifics, they hit just when the mood struck I guess.

Saturday was a really good day, we got 9 hook ups and 7 in the boat.

I will post pics and give a bit of a report as soon as I get the pics loaded.

I had also planned on going to BOQ today (er, yesterday I guess now) but at the last minute decided to hold off on this day trip and do half a day on the Rideau looking for some Musky. Doh! I'm shining up my tail dancers now.
