float tube fishing.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Joco,

I was going to give you a tip to contact Moosebunk, as I remembered his experience with this fishing method...but I see he already replied to you. 8)

You know you can't use them on the ice, right???

Now, remember when I told you I thought it would be wild (and a little creepy) hooking a big musky in a kayak...?...well, imagine a float tube?!
 :!:

Good luck with your wish from Santa. I hope he delivers, because I'd love to read some reports.

(Watch out for big toothies and snapping turtles. They like wiggly, pink toes.)

Hi Joco,

I've got an Arrow Backpacker pontoon boat. It's made by Classic Accessories. It weighs 42lbs and has a capacity of 350lbs. It has a level 1 whitewater classification (I've had it through class 2 rapids without a problem). Lebaron sells them for around $350. So far it's worked out well. It's easy to setup / take down and it's lightweight. My only complaint is that inside of the steel frame tubing rusts when it gets wet. I didn't feel like spending another $300-400 to get a pontoon boat with a stainless steel or aluminum frame.

Here are some pics from a river float trip I went on this summer:

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Why don't you just get a Zodiac. Better than a trashy float tube.
