New Feature Added to Registration

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

New Feature Added to Registration

Post by Bobber »

Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know that I've added the First and Last names feature to our profiles, as many of you have indicated that this would help in identifying people.

At this time, I have only made first names compulsory for new registrations, just to see what kinds of names I actually do get. If in time I feel that it is working, then perhaps I'll make the last name mandatory as well.

For those who are already registered, please feel free to go in and update your profile with your real names. I'm not quite sure how this is going to work out, but thought I'd give it a try after you all have expressed an interest in it.

Cheers,

All updated

This may help slow down some of the recent ad bots as well.

Hello all,

I've noticed that some of you have entered your "real names" as part of your Username in brackets.

In order to simplify this for you, I've added the Real Names fileds to your avatar profile, so when you go into your profile and add your name, it automatically appears under your avatar picture, so you can remove it from your log in username. This should simplify for you, and well.....I actually like seeing the names.

I was hoping to avoid the name thing. Not that I don't think it's a good idea, it is. It's just that I'm sure there will be those that don't believe me and think I'm just goofing around. Oh, well here goes nothing.

:)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing....sorry

Keep in mind though that Lastnames are not mandatory, so all, let's not assume that if someone has the same name as a celebrity or public figure or something that they are just being funny. I don't want this name thing to turn into something further I need to monitor. :)

Thanks for adding your name Stephen.
