I fish walleye alot but I still respect the law. The problem is there is hardly ever any enforcement and they know it so it is a chance they take. Rarely any consequences if any. I know I have not seen any one stopped and checked. I was stopped for the first time ever this year and it was a Quebec enforcement officer near Pontiac bay and he was using his own boat, which if I really wanted to be a jerk I could have just taken off since his boat was a tiny beat up aluminum with a 9.9 on it. In fact he tried to catch up to a guy trolling but finally just gave up.
The government needs to get their collective heads out of their wazzoos and start giving more cash to the MNR so they can start protecting our resources.

i noticed the same when i visited the area. its unfortunate. seeing this after all the years of my area being highlighted. call the mnr guys or get the laws and regs changed.. and yes your region is very special and its well worth the efforts to protect what you have.

Be carfeful on reporting some people.
Including ME LOL
Sometimes my fiancee is with me and she finds fishing boring sometimes.
She'll sleep until there is something on the line when the fishing is slow.
You can't see her unless you are standing up beside the boat.
All you see is one guy with 2 lines LOL
I also take care of her line when it needs to be cleaned up etc..
She only does the fun stuff. Reeling in the fish !

Too many lines
Hey Matt,
Haven't posted in a long time, but this is something that burns me to no end...
Sorry you had to come across that scene but it seems like a more and more common thing on the Ottawa. I was out duck hunting around constance, a couple weeks back, and there was a guy trolling around in his pontoon, and he had a couple more than one rod out... Sickening to see something like that, and hopefully the MNR will one day get their funding back and start patrolling.

I know
Matt, I know exactly what you're saying... seems to be happening more and more, hopefully the MNR gets some funding soon...
Was out around constance for a duck hunt and seen a guy trolling around in his pontoon with more than one line out... In fact he has a few too many rods.

was fishing with a buddy in lauchabor bay?, and it was a tournament day. we saw a boat in the tourny that were casting out with spinner baits each on their one rod, but my friend noticed that the guy kept on checking out another line. i looked and the partner was doing the same. they came second in the tourny. it's sad cus first why do we have regs? and he's needs too cheat to do well in a tourny??
cheeters
the best way if cheeting is rampant is for several to call the mnr office or crimestoppers hotline. that way you will be dealing with different people. they will act upon the problem. whether its over limits or over rodded slobs.. remember to give them the location and the nearest ramp. down here they have been very responsive to calls.. in a rod fine if the lawbreaker pays his fine they get their equipment returned. i cant figure that one out.
