I am a electronic hardware designer for a perimeter security company. what does that mean? Basically i make/support systems to keep the bad guys in (prison) or out (military base, power station).
the hardest part of the job is actually making things durable enough to last out in the field for 20 plus years.
i am pretty new to fishing. i have done some live bait fishing for a couple of summers, but now i am trying lures and stuff. man is it hard to get the presentations right, i need a good tutor for next summer as no one i know fishes
I'm still in school but i wish to be conservation officer. its souds great, you work outside and protect our natural ressources. But i havents forgot that its still alot of work . but i love nature and fishing so its souds like the perfect job for me .
Three years ago I retired from a thirty year career in law enforcement with the intention of spending allot of time fishing and hunting. Unfortunately, almost immediately after retiring, I got tempted back into working as a consultant to the federal government on national security, terrorism and public safety concerns. Now it seems that I have less time than ever for fishing even though I make sure that I do not work on contracts all year long. SOMEDAY.....
I loved fishing so much that I became a full time fishing guide in 2000. I only guide for trophy muskies and have fished for nothing else since 1994.
When I am not guiding I still operate my painting business on a part time bases during the fishing season and full time during the winter. I'm also starting to get into interior renovations, it may just be my next business. I guess I'm getting tired of painting and need more diversity.
If I had the $$$ I would flip a couple of houses every winter. Maybe I can luck into an investor and do that instead of painting.

I guess my oil furnace is regarded as I refuse to pour over $1000 into a 14 yr old furnace when I can get a new gas furnace for the same cost with all the rebates out there.
I'm actually awaiting the instalation of my gas meter to get the work done.

I'm self employed. We (My wife and I) own a video store, a video leasing business, and a tackle shop, Paddletales, where I'm sure a lot of you have spent your hard earned paychecks.
Being self employed allows me a lot of flexibility in my hours, enabling me to spend a lot of time on the water, but it still is a seven day a week deal. I just get to choose what part of the day I work.
Me Im a propane tank refurbisher. Thats mean that all the barbecue tank after 10 years are no good what we do is we refubished them sandblast them, then take the old valve out stamping them and repainting it and there good for another 10 years. And all the bottles that you exchange at the gas stations I washed them then we paint them and we send them again for another time. Ive been there for 7 years.
Let me tell you its hard work and I work full week but I had my weekend off so I could still go fishing during weekend. But I really like it.
Monday to Friday i work for the city of Ottawa as a buyer, I spend your tax dollars (wisely, i promise)
In the winter i'm a volunteer ski instructor for disabled children at Edelweiss Valley ski area.
In the summer I volunteer for a similar program for waterskiing/wakeboarding on the Rideau near Osgoode (some of you guys have probably seen us out there with the kids)
somewhere in all that i find time to get some fishing in as well :)
lol and now i'm adding volunteer time here as well hehehe
Mike would tell you I work too much! I am a systems officer for the Ministry of Correctional Services during the day. I run a fishing and hunting store (Bait Casters) evenings and weekends. Actually I'm running two Bait Casters now that the Christmas store in Smiths Falls is open! And, I have taken on a big renovation project in Carleton Place (trying to get rich in real estate so I can relax a bit) I know it will never happen! The relax part I mean!
With all this talent out there perhaps we should set up a barter system! I'm not really much good at anything other than supervising but I have an electician (that's what Mike does) that I could rent out.... I'm looking for a plumber, a tin banger, a siding or stucco guy, a drywaller, a painter...and the list goes on...
Nice to learn a bit more about everyone!
