I design Circuit Cards for the military. Basically put I take engineering concepts and make them into physical objects. Some know this as layout others call it pushing copper and some call it physical design.

A lot of what I do is very similar to the fish finders we all use today but the new technology that fish finders use is obsolete technology in my world. The military is typically 5 years ahead of the commercial world when it comes to technology.

Here are some examples of stuff I have worked on over the last few years. This is just a tiny example but will give you a really good idea of what I do for a living.

Hi Mr. J it's kind of funny that you mentioned "fish finder" , we just shipped a set of bds that go into an obsolete military fish finder.

To put this into perspective

Last spring I bought a GPS fish finder at the boat show.

It uses fluorescent tubes as back lighting

It uses a heater to warm up the tubes in colder weather

We in the military havenâ€™t used this technology in many many years and are instead using much more power efficient LEDS which are considerably brighter and use considerable less energy and are not effected by temperature.

i own and operate a Fencing company in Belliville Ont for 8 years now

before that i worked in a few bait-shops.

I use to work at Kraft Cheese Factory on Wolfe Island.
After I was married I moved north of Kingston and started working at
Invista (Dupont) in Kingston in 1979. I worked around the plant on 12 Hr shift.
The last 7 years working days as a maintenance coordinator
& scheduler for a section of the plant.

One day a co-worker asked me about doing some fishing charters in 1981, liked this so
I joined the guides association. I think it's a good job and being involved with people
fishing at the same time.

Maybe in a few years I can put all my time on the water providing the new
regulations & red tape don't sink the boat before I pull away from the dock.

One day I will have my office on the water.

I teach chemistry, biology and natural resource and outdoor studies at Athens District High School north of Brockville. A great location for springtime Charleston Lake trout fishing.

On the side I teach an introductory course in GPS use once in awhile, make a bit of maple syrup as a hobby, installing a couple beehives is my new hobby for 2008 and chase around my 2 daughters.

Im a Sales director for CSM Gatineau ( boat,VTT,motorcycle) so do a job that give me the time to be arond all the new toy . And during the summer i Guide on lake ontario .

I am a third year Millwright Apprentice at Atomic Energy of Canada which I thoroughly enjoy. I try to spend as much time as possible fishing mostly for Bass. I have even arranged the school part of my apprenticeship for the winter months so that it doesn't cut into my fishing time. I am currently a Field Staff member for Shimano representing a local tackle shop here called Deep River Outfitters. This allows me to meet many people in the fishing community which I greatly enjoy and is a huge asset for me during the tournament season. I am fortunate that my job allows me alot of leeway in how much time I have off during the which really helps me during the year. I hope I can continue to have the time and sponsors to allow me to become more involved in the fishing industry.

P.S. Hey Pepe, there always looking for guys like you at work as you know, maybe you could come and work here for a few years after you retire and we can spend more time fishing instead of just talking about it all the time
