This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

ottawa river warning (ice)

Post by joco »

hi all.

like we all see......THERE SOME MAJOR rain today/tonight.

so there will be a lot off weight/water on ice.

BUT the main consern.just talk to cooworker.

they prepare to open some doors at the dams...to mutch water coming down.rain plus all that snow is melting.

so the water level will gp up.....on the ottawa river.

might BRAKE the ice on shore.

so what out for ''shore'' guys.

plus the weater dont look to be very cold for the next 14 day.... :?

we need some -30 for a cople day.that would help.

so this is not to scare anyone or be to motherly..

better safe then sorry.

Not good news Joco!

Look at the bright side, this precipitation did'nt come in the form of snow   and my car has'nt been this clean in weeks

Bodies of water with current would be considered extremely dangerous right now.

Ice looks good so far....

Post by Priorguy »

Well fellas,

I was out two days now in the area of the Arnprior Warf and there was 10 inches of ice. Not to mention a few machines have made there way across the Ottawa to Quebec.

The first layer was about 3 inches and then I hit hard ice of about 7. Lots of snow still ontop making it a little tough for the Big Bear! Been a good couple days to as I got into a couple good runs of eye's.

Thats it for now.. I will report more on the weekend...
