This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

It's a slot limit..I don't see why there would be a need to rush and snap a picture of a trophy fish or even a couple pounds at that. As long as your not harming the fish I see no reason why there would be a bunch of dabble. Can't target big walleyes? That's what I am fishing %50 of the time.

I am going to continue doing what I do..Seeing as though I don't keep walleyes over 16'' anyway there shouldn't be a problem. Besides bass, walleye follows very close behind as one of my prefered species to catch anywhere, anytime.

Controversy  If I ever catch that 10+ pound O.River walter, you guys will be the first to hear about it although not where I catch her of coarse 8)

Remember, the slot is for fish you plan on feasting on

As long as we pay and register into the derby, can me and my buddies fish on the Quebec side of the river 8) 8) 8) , across from Petries with 5 lines each and be considered legal and not cheating  because we have more lines out than on the Ontario side???........If not, how will you regulate this????

great question...
qc side is only one inch past the border line...

put 3 line on quebec side off the border line and 2 on the ontario side off the border.fully legal..

and that border line is even close to the registration booth then some guys fish all the way back...at petrie.

can use the how far you can fish.the other side off the river there at the point off the petrie is close then those far spor at petrie.mmmm

this is a great question.

If there was not the issue of the slot coming into effect on that day the organizing would practically be done .Actually it is coming along better than last years. This is the one issue that we have to solve.

Just to toss this out there do you guys think if walleye were not part of the derby would the participation be less? If not then maybe that would be the best bet. Please everyone give feedback on this question as it may help us decide for sure.

bi badger.

i dont personaly think you would get les people if you dont have walleye.

mabe there would be some sadness...  .but the people go there for the fun off it plus.......its for a good cause.

for the quebec border.dont no how can somebody can do something about that...

actualy mabe some were fishing accross the border last year.....you guys would be suprise hoe close the border is frome the pointe at petrie... .
some people fish the border and accross it..and dont no it...

3 line the other side off the border and 2 on the ontario side is a good ideal...  and legal...

here the border look how close to the island... a lot close then the people fishing the EST end far into the bay..no more petrie..
