Walleye tips...........anyone????????????

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Find a good spot, use a spoon and minnow head, catch big fish, then keep it to yourself and don't post it on a public board. Too often "paradise" becomes everyone's stomping grounds...

just my opinion.

What I use is a single spinner, split shot with a worm, troll slowly and bounce the bottom around 13 feet or so
goood luck

Buckshot rattle spoon with minnow head. Sun up or sun down. 5 to 10 feet of water, during the day might need to go deeper. Try around river mouths or creek mouths. Also sometimes the eyes just want a lively minnow on a plain hook under a tipdown.

I like a rattle spoon 1/8 to 1/4oz, I switch out the treble for a single hook. Tip with a small minnow, or plastics work as well. Deeper water during light and move shallower during darkness.
As Wallyboss said, somedays they want a minnow on a hook under a tip up.

In waters that allow for two active holes per angler I generally run both an ice fishing rod and a tip-up, that way I cover both techniques and let the fish tell me what they want.

Scumfrog, can I ask you why you change from a treble to a single?? Cause I change from a single to a treble on some walleye lures?? I find I get a better hookup percentage. just wondering.

On jigging spoons I just find I get better hook ups with a single hook . I also find the bait fits on better and doesnt effect the natual action of the lure with a single hook.
