T'is that Season

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

T'is that Season

Post by plowjock »

Well it's rolling around.
Time to strip all that old line off the reels.
Give the reels a going over, be it greasing or little oiling.
General cleanup and let them set so they are ready for that SOFT WATER.
With any luck it should be here somewhere about April 14th.
Thenit's time to respool all the reels again.

So what's everyone planning on targeting day one and what tactics will you use first?

as soon as the river is unfrozen!!

fish with worms in the river for anything that bites!

then when trout is open go to a lil lake in the moutains for some speckled!

then after pike and bass for the rest of the summer!!

Plowjock,

You are reading my mind! 8)

Funny, even the kids are starting to talk about the upcoming season. Shane was just imitating the sound a lure makes as it sails out and hits the water...! I said to him, "You've got the itch, too, huh buddy?"

Spent an hour watching a couple of fishing shows this morning. It was sweet torture!

Plow, maybe by then, sometime in April, we'll have soft water and some idea of where the Sens and Devils will be seeded for the post! I'm hoping we meet in the Eastern Conf. Finals, if not it'll be a shame! Lookin forward to my Gan Lake trip, may have a boat this time around, WOO-HOO! Joe.

Great post Brian...

Il be out for Slab-O's as soon as the river opens and starts to warm up a bit in a few of my honey holes. I was one of the first out checking for ice free spots where I new the crappies would be spawning. A few days later I was nailing them off of there beds and beat my PB three times in an hour. I better add I tossed everyone back  Then it's big brookie time.
