Speckles and Rainbows - Renfrew - Calabogie Area

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I was in at lone wolf on the weekend, we had 5 or 6 lines and got nothing. Trails were perfect though.

I was up there this week-end and almost every other one. The ice is a full auger thick. I find the fishing slower lately but I did catch some specks.

We got skunked, not even a bite. Fished right at the entrance and then over a long the camp. The snow isn't bad, you should be able to make it in with a quad, we walked in but I'll never do that again. Couple other guys were out there, they got one real fine one but we didn't see them run to their lines the rest of the time. Beautiful day though, an auger full of ice, probably 5 inches of clear, the rest white, ~20 in total, but you have to watch the sides, the marshy spots were opening.
