How do you keep youre plastics

Well I have tons and tons of plastics still in there original packaging. Some are new and some have a couple taken out.

I have alot of senko styles baits, If i would organize them in a plano box would this affect the bait?

I keep 'em all in original bags and place them in a small tool bag I found at Princess Auto... I can squish about 35 bags in in a row. Compact and easy to stow.

John i do it both ways, in original bags and or in plano boxes...
Dons idea is compact and does fit nicely in my boat under the storage.. The problem is that when your out of the boat, it looks like Don is carrying his purse

I've tried the basspro double sided zip-bags, the tacklelogic zippered wraps, the liquour store bags, the ziplock feezer bags so tryin something new this yr...

I'm a bit more anal I'm afraid. I also have lots of plastics and I use them extensively but I leave mine in there original bags (I only use scented plastics).

I buy worm binders for them. For example I have just purchased an additional 4 Calcutta Tackle Binders that are 8.5” X 10.5” X2.5” they come with several plastic sleeves so you can store the plastics in there original bags directly into the sleeves without worrying too much about the scent or about worrying about leaving them exposed to sun light too long and so on.

So for me anyway what I like to have is 2 to 3 binders that are just for worms and some other binders are just for craws and so on. There all tagged with different colors so I know right away if the binders are for worms, craws, senkos and so on.

I find that it really helps me stay organized of which in turn ensures that I have a full of stock plastics ready to go for when I’m on the water. Sure beats being out there and then finding out "Ah man I thought I had those in there!!" None of that, all you need to do is go through your binders the night before and you can see right away if you’re missing something.

I am planning on putting most plastics in those plano(Shimano) boxes, I will leave the berkley and gulp alive stuff in original packaging in the binders mentioned above.

Where do you get those, and how much are they?

I use the freezer-lock bags that come with frozen pogos (the bag is probably easier to digest) But I hate trying to locate the pack that I want in there...looking for a better solution too.

I mistakenly stored white flukes in contact with purple yum dingers. The white flukes with red discoloration turned out to be deadly for pike. What's that old saying? "Boneheaded mistakes are the mother of invention?..." Don't be afraid to experiment by mixing colours!

I received my Shimano Tackle Binder last year fishing the Lake and Trail Renegade Bass pro/am as a gift.
Awesome experience for anyone, especially those in Kayaks. LOL

Hey Yak, I got mine a Bass Pro. It's double sided and holds a ton of plastics. I still have a bunch stuffed in a small duffle but the ones I use regularly are in the binder. It was $29. They make 2 smaller and one really large one at around $40.

I've seen smaller ones at C-tire.

I replaced all my old Tackle Logic binders with the far superior BPS Finesse Binder Bags. They come with 10 envelopes, but order a pack of extra envelopes for each binder, they hold a lot of plastics.
I started with a double finesse binder, but found this "too busy" for me. Zip one side closed open the other looking for this @ that. I just replaced it with 2 large finesse binders. I find the large finesse binder perfect for organizing one family of baits such as senkos, tubes, worms, dropshotin' etc. On the inside flaps of each binder are 4 ea (8 total) clear plastic zip compartments that are perfect for storing hooks, jigs, weights etc. these are well thought out binders.
I would think the double might be of interest to our yak brethren, I would also think for walk-in trips or camping trips where weight is an issue that the double would be perfect.
Unfortunately with the swing in tackle systems that are set up specifically with Plano type boxes in the main compartment, it forces us the angler to put soft plastics in Plano style boxes whether we want to or not.
Drop an open Plano full of plastics in you boat and see how happy you are.
