flooding.high water level.

LIKE we did talk about for the couple last tread about this subject.

ITS NOW occuring.........very high water level and now some basement are flooding along the rideau in some area. and will get worst.

be safe.to all that do stay close to shore in some area.

its is just starting..all the north lakes and not even close to be melting..still more then 1.5feet off ice up north.and still more then 3 feet off snow in a lot off area.

it will melth fast now..due that we are late in the seaon and the days are gething hoter and hoter.

be carefull and wise.

mabe for some people.could be a good ideal to have some gaz pump or wathever to help evacuate just in case..

sand bag.

empty the basement off it valuable stuff.etc.

just to be prepare is a big step.

hope not to many people will get toutch by this.

ya, i pass the rideau every morning and afternoon and there are some parts that are flooded 20 feet away from the normal levels. many submerged trees.

Gonna be a lot of carp swimming around in puddles in farm fields once the water level goes back down.

The usual flooding is occuring just about everywhere, and with all this snow

Those who have problems with flooding in the past should have been fully aware of what the melt is going to inflict. I was out helping shovel snow off of the decks and around the houses of many freinds last week. The creeks and rivers should be at there highest in another couple days.

Will be casting soon

Might even get the kinks out sometime this weekend

i was looking at the news .tonight.

the city off laval nere montreal are beeing hit by the worst flodd for the past 40 years and its is just starting..wit the wetaer we will get this week (up to 20dc) it will mealth pretty fast....

no good for flooding.

just hope not to many will be hit by those floods all over.

How's the Ottawa looking now? Is it way higher than normal? I wondering if its going to keep rising?

The ottawa doesn't peak for a while yet i believe. All the northern melt has to happen before the ottawa peak

I think the main problem with the Moira system is that the whole thing is made up of weir dams. When we get a large volume of water like this, there is no way to drain it any faster. The Trent River which is just next door has high water and some flooding but seems to be doing OK so far. They have the option of holding back some of the runoff in spots that won't affect people and open up dams below to drain out the populated areas. We can't do that hear. We are all at the mercy of mother nature.

Well, yeah, that's basically how it works.. hahaha...well said! Almost like saying, "Mother Nature ain't done until she's done."

Dude, the Ottawa is already at around last year's highest level... yeah, if you go by last year... it's not at it's highest... if you go by this year... we're in for some trouble! So basically... the highest level is not supposed to be happening yet based upon the past (and the brainiac Andy_L... hahhahh) but the highest level has already happened!!!!

How high will it go!!??

I live on the Ottawa R. and I can tell you that the water level is higher now, then it was last year and we still have lots of snow left to melt!!.....I expect that the water levels will rise dramatically by the end of this week, with the forecasted sunny and +20C temps they're calling for....

The water is already up to my fence and gate.....I'll post some pics today later this morning....
