cleaning plastic windshield??

Post by dh99 »

I have a plastic windshield on my boat. I try washing it and it is terrible. Has a bunch on blotchy spots on it. I don't know what it is, if it's water stains but it just won't come out.

I have tried a water and vinegar solution, windex and nothing has worked so far.

Any ideas on I should do?

Thanks

Denis

Cleaning a plastic windshield

Post by Joey Rat »

Someone was telling me about a product that not only cleaned the windshied but made the water sheet right off. Problem with getting old is I can remember the name of the product or who told me.

If this rings a bell with anyone let us know. I mean the product not the forgetfullness.

Plexiglas Cleaner

Hey Guys! :)

One product is 'Aurora Clear View'. It's a 2 Step process, 1st step cleaner, 2nd step protector, stuff works wonders on old & cloudy plexiglass windshields, even minor scratches. :o It's not cheap but if you use it as directed it's well worth it!! I got mine @ 'The Chandlery' in Brittania. 8)

There are a couple different 2-step procedures at the Chandlery. A cleaner, then a polish. They work.

Heading there this aft to stock up on "the list" from the winter and return the shredded boat cover  purchased early last summer!

Hey Joey Rat,

Is it Rain X ? It comes in a yellow bottle? You apply, let it dry then wipe off.

Windshield cleaners

No Pep, it wasn't rain X.

The Aurora Clear View sounds interesting. Has anyone tried it on the plastic windows in the stand up canvass. The windshield is in good shape but those window are getting a little cloudy.
