I could have my lakes mixed up but if you take the calabogie exit of 17 follow this road( 508 i think) for quite a ways. The 508 actually makes a 90 degree turn to the right. At this point go straight you will go past the dump then over the bridge at mountain chute dam. Keep on going straight and you will hit a campground with a launch. I am assuming this is black donald lake but could be wrong. Some of the other guys on here know the area really well.
The launch looked doable (sp) last time I was there

Different Launches
That launch belongs to the campground & you'll probably have to pay
them to use it, besides the fact the road into it is no screamin' h*ll!!
I don't think ya wanna do it with a car!
If you turn right onto Centennial Lake road (the 90' turn Seabass mentions) & follow it approx. 2 miles to another 90' turn (which is Centennial Lake Rd. & goes to Griffith) but don't turn, go straight ahead to the Black Donald tent & trailer park & they have a really decent launch & only charged me $5 to launch & park for the day!!
(Did it twice last summer)
But if you really want the 'Public' launch, follow Centennial Lake Rd. around the east end/north side of the 2 lakes (Black Donald connects to Centennial) until you get to the launch just beside the bridge. But then you'll have to back-track quite a ways to Black Donald! You actually have a 28 mile paradise from the east end of Black Donald thru Centennial & up the Madawaska River to Griffith!!
It's totally awesome!!
Hope this isn't too confusing!!

It is a nice lake, I used to fish the pike opening weekend there up to a few years ago. (Moved closer to town now)Fisher Dude wrote:What is Black Donald like to fish in anyway? Fish population healthy? What's in there?
The lake holds bass and pike, lots of little bays and a waterfall at the far end. Some deep water, but mostly shallow.
It's a lake I'd go back to for an enjoyable days fishing.
Edit............
Oops, I must be getting old, I'm confusing Black Donald and Norcan.

Cyber is right, thats one of the launch spots I have used. As for fishing again you have a massive body of water with bass, walleye, pike, whitefish etc etc.
Best advice, take a map or a GPS, watch for the white marker bouys too as there are some humps out there that can hurt your boat, but they also make great fishing spots.
Good Luck
