Father's day and the fishing was good

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Father's day and the fishing was good

Post by Mr.J. »

Got out for a few hours to wash lures on the Rideau today. Hit my usual spot for topwater and ran into Musky51 and Bucketmouth

Image

After not seeing a fish I went to my next spot and started to throw out my new handcrafted creations. 2nd or 3rd cast I had a big follow, mid 40's and she stayed with my lure for 2 figure 8s. Wow a big fish followed my lure. More of nothing for a while and then hit my 2nd spot and again another follow on my new lure. I figure 3rd time was going to be fish on but the 3rd follow came and went without a fish boated.

Now it is time to try my new lures trolling. Zipp went the reel. My 1st fish of the year and my first fish on my newly crafted lure. Not a big fish but I didn't care.

So we decided to continue trolling. I switched to some store bought lures and got nothing so I decided to go back to my hand crafted lure and once again zipp.

5 fish at the boat, 2 landed and all of them with one of my lures. WOW what a day.

Great Report Mr.J! Those are some dandy fish landed, and on your newly crafted baits to boot! Way to go....

Will you be hosting the Toothy Derby this year?

Good work J...I had my first musky on today but only fought it for .3 seconds  ...Maybe it was because I was not using one of your lures
