good fishing spots between Petrie Island and Rockland

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Good fishing spots between Petrie and Rockland

Assuming you have a boat the area between Petrie and Rockland is one big fishing spot.

Pike. pickeral, crappy, muskie and bass (but not until next week). Hit the bays, the weedy shore line, the weedyshallows and drop offs. Just watch the other boats or even better watch this site. A lot of the posts are from that area.

I like fishing some of the backbays on the Quebec side around the power lines just before the ferry if you are launching from Petrie Island. there some good pike to be caught there, as well as thick weed beds for bass next weekend.

Good luck.

2 years ago!!!! and all that &^%^$ is past Montreal by now.

I am just sick and tired that people are saying that Petrie is dirty. it is not dirtier than any other place on that river. That overflow pipe is nowhere close to Petrie Island, yes it is upriver from it. The only reason that Petrie is mentioned anytime the overflow pipe is mentioned is because there is a beach at Petrie Islands and it is the water tests there that eventually made for that overflow pipe problem to be discovered.

So if you guys don't want to fish from Petrie, well more place for me cause I love fishing out of Petrie.

If you catch a 3-eyed catfish (at Petrie island) that looks and smells just like a public toillet, -give it to me- I'll fillet it nicely, and serve it to you with potatoes boiled in Water I get from Petrie Island - there's no reason for you to refuse

How will you catch fish at Petrie if you don't fish there??

And if you are trying to politely tell me to eat S**t. Then come and see me at the boat launch at Petrie most Saturday morning and we'll see about that.

Nah, when I say its usually direct, ~ and im not polite about it either
But listen , I doubt even you don't eat that fish you catch at Petrie -
Myself I don't consume anything thats cought anywhere in this river, from Ottawa -> eastwards. And I don't know why you fish at Petrie, when there are so many other better "much cleaner" spots (and with fewer fishermen)..on the Ottawa river. Petrie Island is a nice place, I agree with you. It's good for sightseeing, - if you hold your nose
