Hi everyone, I've run a few events in my days and the first thing you gotts learn is that you are not going to keep everyone happy. If you pick a Tuesday, there will always be some folks who want it to be a Wednesday...just the way of human nature. I suggest we pick a night to start and then move it every week. If we start on a Monday, the next week it will be Tuesday, the next week it will be Wednesday, etc, etc. This way everyone can get at least one or two nights in and everyone is happy. As for location I think someone should pick a place and then go by the majority for the next place. If 9 people show up for the first night, before we leave we can vote as to where to go the next week, etc. This way everyone has a say in it. Some folks can even get together on their own and go to their favourite sports without the group (but it would be more fun for 5 or 6 people to get together).
This is just my two cents and is not meant to tread on anyone's toes.
I'm available almost every evening except Tuesday and can get to almost anywhere in the greater Ottawa area. Just tell me when and where and I'll most probably be there. I'm eager to learn from the more experienced fisher people on this site and am happy to get together either with one or two other people or in a group.

allright sounds good! Saturday, Burrits Rapids Locks. at say around 4, we can have a bbq, then start fishing, good start because most of the boats will have gotten through the locks at that point. I an bring a little BBq, if everyone would like to bring there own food and non-alcoholic beverages. If anyone needs a lift i have an open spot available. i live in kanata

I'm out of town this weekend... and my most available evening is Wednesday's. I live downtown and my car is hurtin' these days, so I'd probably be biking if I can't get a ride (i.e. central location preferred).
Have a great time this weekend & good luck! Hopefully I can make it next time!
Cheers,

I'm heading to Dow's Lake this evening, heading over between 5:00 and 6:00. I'll be fishing the east side along the driveway more towards the north end of the lake. I'll have my Fish-Hawk hat on. You can park on the Dow's Lake road which is just east off of the driveway. Easy shoreline access for kids, bass and an assortment of panfish should be available.
You can usually catch something in Dow's Lake, sunfish are really plentiful, and are normally willing to bite. But, like most lakes, it does have its off days as well. This evening was one of them. I've done fairly well on bass over the last few years, nothing big, but fun to catch. One pounders and under are the norm, with the odd 2 to 4 pounders popping up.
Nice to meet you Tall Paul, hope to get to fish with you one of these evenings.
