Shore fishing group?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I am in. Could you post directions and other specifics of the gathering? Just to make sure people don't have to read all the posts to get proper info.

Hey Pints, likewise. I don't see why we shouldn't be able to... turns out we're practically neighbours! Lets hope for some better luck though!

Cheers,
Tall Paul

Looks like I'll be able to make it tonight.
Our little one is fighting something, but the wife still gave me the thumbs up to go....
See everyone there.

Hey guys, got there about 4:45 adn was just amazed by the amount of people fishing. THere were white buckets everywhere and a very large family picnic. Too many people for me! So Sportspal and Gord and I packed up and moved up to nicholsons Lower locks. Not a soul to be seen! We had the run of the place. Caught a couple of 1- 2 pound bass each. Was a great evening, and good to catch up with you chris! Sorry to those who went to Burrits Rapids, but if you did you would know what i meant! Any ideas for the next location or date?

I drove by Dow's Lake this evening, and the white bucket harvest was in full swing there as well.

larry there was about 50 buckets, no lie! They were using baby bass for bait, perch, and dropping fish about 15ft to the water below from the top of the locks, the place was a zoo! Plus you have all the boaters docking for the night. they had about 6 picnic tables put together, nice day for a pcinic

Dennis, after Gord and I took off in search of other spots, we were enjoying the drive down 43, through Merrickville, into Smiths Falls. We stopped for a bite to eat, and then looking for some shore sports to fish, but it was a camper's paradise: Boats docked for the night, picnics everywhere, a little fair on the go with tons of kiddies, and really, more traffic than I like to see, but no white buckets to be seen... 8)
We ended up jumping into Perth and down to Silver lake for the night bite.
We didn't stay too long, just until the bugs started coming out, but Gord and I hooked into another 6 or so fish in the hour or so we were there.
Best of the night was a 3.5lb smallmouth, just beautiful coloring, but he inhaled my lizard, so I cut the line, and let him go...hope he made it.
I didn't see him floating when we left, but someone did leave a nice 5lb pike floating by the shore...where are the buckets when you need them ;)
