Dollorama bargains !

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Or they are knock offs from over the ocean. Dollarama doesn't import much from anywhere in North America.

I picked up a bunch of the jigs at the Place D'Orelans store today. There are still quite a few left. At a buck for 2 jigs, it's a great deal.

They appear to be "true" Storm products. There's even a link to the Storm website on the package.

gogolfer99: Thanks for the heads-up.

And if a pike bites you off, you only lost a couple of bucks. :D

Careful...

I once bought what turned out to be a knock-off rapala packaged in very genuine-looking Normark packaging. At a dollar store. It was only a dollar, but in any case, buyer beware.

Not to say that's what is happening here, of course. Sounds like a great deal if not!

Tried out the new jigs from shore at Petrie Island last night. No fish, but I got a lot of bites (all mosquito).

I have to blame the jigs. Surely it wasn't operator error.

Bumped into a few fellow fishermen, all were reporting a slow night.

Today I checked out a couple Dollarama stores down here in southern Ontario.
Stratford - Nothing
Woodstock - About 40 packs of Storm WildEye Hair Jigs. Mostly pink in colour. I picked up a 1/2 oz,hair squid jig in pink with a blue tail, a 1/2 oz hair jig in grey with a white & black tail and a 3/8 oz hair jig in lime green with a lite green & white tail.

why wouldn't you buy it ?

Post by gogolfer99 »

Sorry, can't understand te objection to buying becuz it has 1994. Compared my purchase to some in my tacklebox and they appear identical. Was it the lead that put u off. This is a standard warning on lures in the states

Hate to say this but most lures, line, reels and rods have that warning on them. In fact alot of the times it states ``contains a substance known to cause cancer`in the state of California``.

Not sure if you guys are aware but this comes from a state that is so backwards it isn`t even funny. For 1 you can`t own a ferret in California as they are considered vicious animals.(You can buy handguns at a pawn shop though!) and secondly the Cougar population is so outta control that people frequently get attacked when out camping etc.

But Arnie sure likes to let you know that fishing is cancerous!

If a lure contains lead just be careful handling it and don`t suck on your fingers until you get a chance to wash them. C`mon most old buidlings still have lead pipes for crying out loud....your gramps still lived to be 90!!

I bought the ones that look like a perch, and boy let me tell ya, I had the pike and the bass just nailing that last summer. I had to buy more because mind got so torn up the first time out with them.

Definitely a good buy.

Bought the ones that look like a pike, but no luck yet with those ones.
