We had a great turnout at the Tournament today with 15 participants. It was great to see some fellow FH'ers and OFS members. Conditions were tough with the water clarity being poor and the weather unpredictable. Bass were few and far between. I was lucky that my one and only smallie at 15" was big enough to take first place.

Here's a picture of the winning bass:

The fly is based on a rattling fly pattern found at the link below. It's tied on a #2 Mustad 79580 with two 3/16" beads for the rattle and about 15 turns of 0.020" lead for weight.

My only other fish of the day was this slab of a Crappie (13") that I landed just before a big storm put the run to us. It's the first crappie I've ever caught on the fly.

Thanks to the Algonkins for setting this up. Even though the fishes were not all that interested on what my fly rod was offering up, I had a great time and hope you guys put something like this together again next year.

Thanks Guys. Our bass tourney is an annual event and has been getting bigger and better every year. Hopefully the bass will be more cooperative next year :)
