Summer Evening Flyfishing (Aug 5th)

Post by Todd B. »

Well the water levels are still up somewhat, though a drive by the other day seemed to indicate that it should be good for wading.

Location: Hogs Back to Carleton (Rideau R.)
Time: 6pm or whenever you want to get on the water
Parking: Parking available at Hogs Back park.(map)
Species: SM, walleye, muskie
Suggested Flies: your fav SM streamers, etc., poppers, etc.

Notes:
Park at the back of the lot, then take the lower path down to the Baseline Bridge, where you can access the water. Crossing the river should still be relatively easy on the razorback just upstream of the bridge. Keep in mind that the rocks upstream of the bridge can be extremely slippery.

I've got to hit the tying bench for a few flies before heading out. Should be there before 6pm...

Going to try to tie up some http://www.flickr.com/photos/hauki/2323 ... 378888320/

Change of plans. I'll be there. I'll bring my 5wt just to make sure I catch something big. If I bring my 8wt, I'll only catch small ones. :D
