Opinicon/Indian/Newboro/Clear Lakes

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Opinicon/Indian/Newboro/Clear Lakes

Post by Big Turkey »

Hi Guys

Been a member for years but haven't posted in quite a while. We are headed up to stay at opinicon lodge next saturday (memorial day weekend), for the week. Problem is, I have never been up this time of year. For over 70 years someone in my family has spent at least 2 weeks of the year up there, however I usually go opening week.

I can usually find good largemouth opening week and after a day can usually select the right lures, however I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me locate some fish or share some lure recommendations, seeing as I have never been up there in September.

We will be staying at Opinicon lodge at Chaffey's lock. I usually stay on the Indian lake side. Got a good sized boat with a decent motor so I don't mind running a while to find the fish. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Pat

Hey Pat,

Here's a little map of Opinicon Lake with some species marked.

You'll also find some more maps of the bodies of water you mentioned in the Ontario Map Project page of this site.

Good luck, let us know how it works out and if you find some other good spots.

Cheers,

No problem Pat, that's what the site is all about. Hopefully you'll get into some and I look forward to reading the report and seeing the pics.
