SHORE FISHING.......

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Joco,

I love to shore fish Dalhousie lake in the early season and the fall. In the summer the Walleye move out. You'll catch the odd 1 but not as many as in the spring/summer.

It also produces some big transient smallmouth.

I also like shore fishing from my parents dock on the Mississippi Lake. However, it has become VERY weedy in the last few years.

But I tired fishing out past the weedbed by boat....

and I am NOT posting those pics.....it gives the area away for sure then! To many easy markers.....plus the folks who live there hate seeing alot of fishing by their docks.....except my folks and the neighbor....Bennett. (Oops said too much!) :D

Alot of small mouth and largemouth. The odd snotrocket too!

Odd becuase early season it is ver rocky (few weeds) and it holds walleye!

Post by alottawa »

Hi,

are there any shore fishing "events" around Ottawa in the next days so I could join the session?

I am a beginner.

Thanx

Not much shorefishing going on when water is still hard. You might have to wait until it's all melted..
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

If you can't stand behind our troops,
Please feel free to stand in front of them!!!

Experience is that marvellous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again

I own a boat, but sometimes I just love to shore fish with my sons and their buddies. My boat will only carry 4 people and sometimes I take many more that that. There are a few places that I know of that I cannot get to with my boat that are great fish factories for these guys. These are my favourite places to fish. This is an amazing area we live in for fishing. There are so many places and so little time. lol
