Seaweed, I hope you will still stay in touch and post occasional "progress reports". Wouldn't mind a few good fish stories and hear how your new boat performs! Have a nice, fish-filled summer.
PS: I can't get out and fish as much as most of you, so I enjoy reading your posts and seeing your photo's.
Ohhh maybe there's just as many people around posting, but nobody seems as intense or crazed about things like before.
Isn't that right SteveG. You must admit to being a little less interested in typing now that your arms are sore from swinging the poles.
Nobody's posted in Hockey Talk for 2 days even though there is amazing hockey still being played.
Yeah everybodys fishing. Some more than others. I'll stick around wolfe and Seaweed to keep ya company if you want. But late next week I'll have to go fishing for 7 days and leave ya's on your own.
Will miss yaz. (when I'm not drunk with the buddies or knee deep in beaver sh!t chasing brookies)
Ohh yeah wolfe, have fun and good luck to ya while yer on the Gana-knock-way.
I couldn't wait to get home the other night to throw my walleye report up...
I think most weekends throughout the summer guys will be getting together in different spots...a great community here with great people...I can't see why it would slow down...
I have too agree, Lake Trout made my days posting all those picks, I can’t wait too see the summer posts from everyone, I know I will be posting them.
Hey don't get me wrong.... I was one of the few who kept posting last year.....
I guess I am the only one who remembers how drab and slow things got around here last summer.... we will see what happens this year.
In case anyone hasn't noticed I tend to post almost everyday and I have the portable technology to post from the boat this year.... damn I got this techno thing obsession going don't I.
I too love checkin in to see who is catching what and where.
Allumette Island? Great walleye fishing and I have seen the odd strugeon come out of there as well. I have no idea what it would be like to target sturgeon, every one I have seen or heard of was caught by somebody jigging for walleye
Hi Seaweed. I'll have to get a laptop one of these days. I normally rent a private cottage for the summer, or spend some time at rustic fishing lodges....so this normally means no computer, no TV, and sometimes no readily available phone (this dinosaur refuses to get a cell phone). I'll probably check in with Fish-Hawk once in awhile when I get a chance this summer, but it's just about the time for me to "shut up and put up." I'm sure many Fish-Hawkers will be thankful for my temporary exit for the summer! (After awhile, even I can't take myself anymore). Seaweed, I'm glad you posted your picture by your name.......now I might be able to find you out on the West Arm this summer.....I wasn't going to get too far looking for your funky cartoon character out in a boat, but I was going to give it a try! Good luck this summer . -John-

Down here, there are poeple lining up on the St-Lawrence fishing for sturgeon. Usual setup is a cheap rod and reel combo with anything big as weight (as long as it's not your usual fishing sinkers ), hooks and whatever piece of meat on the hook.
The nighttime walleye bite here has been extraordinary since the opener and every once in a while, you hear a huge splash, kinda like the Cotroni clan throwing bodies from the Jacques-Cartier bridge, pretty sure it's sturgeons. Maybe someday I will join the chain gang and play the waiting game.
