My first catfish

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My first catfish

Post by milchner »

Hi guys,
at first I want to apologize for the long time where I was out of this forum. But today I have a little surprise for you :D
Maybe you know that my favourite kind of fishing the Big Game Fishing is, and my last reports were mostly about Saltwater fishing. But now......
The catfish feever got me.
Before I start with a short report I want to say that the species "catfish" in Europe is not the same then catfish in North America. In Europe the best catfish waters are the river "Po" (Italy) and "Ebro" (Spain). In this waters they catch a lot of fish over the 100 kilo Mark.
In Germany, we have some good waters too, but not with so much catfish.
Now, this year we fished in June one week at the river "Regen" (in the German Language "Regen" means "rain") and a friend of me could catch his first catfish with 1,11m. A very nice fish. Not a giant but nice.
In August I was back at the river "Regen", but now with my little daughter and my wife so fishing was not the most important thing in this holiday
I think every father and husband knows what I mean :D
But now I had success too. My first catfish with 1,03m.
Guys I was happy!
So, now I want to try to add a picture too

Some more details you can find here

You can upload it to our gallery and then post it into this message from here. The how-to will tell you what you need to do if you don't already know.
