Quality Merc Dealer wanted

Looking for Ottawa's best Merc dealer to perform some warranty work/inspection as well as eventually end of season treatment. Looking for a dealer who's competant and can get er done right the 1st time and treat my baby right.

any leads are appreciated.

Orleans Boat World.....the new ownership has really turned things around....I've always had good service from them, although I have an Evinrude E-tec so not much service needed really!!!

Andre Lalonde marine out of Wendover has been nothing but perfect for the almost 10 years I've been going to him.

He's been a Mercury certified mechanic long before he started to sell boats.

I had a good experience with the fellas at Hurst Marina (South of Manotick nearer to Kars). Jordan set me up on a tutorial with the mechanic AJ and he walked me through my motor and explained everything that was "not right" with the motor and how to proceed. They took care of everything with the merc rep as well as it was all under warranty. I'll likely go back for my sping/fall work.

If you have a chance give George's Marine & Sports a call - 613-831-2255. They have a Platinum Mercury Service Department with 6 Mercury Factory Certified Technicians on staff all year round. They take care of all my motors service, setup and warranty work.

The good thing is you have a Merc and there are dealers and Certified technicians everywhere.

I purchased my boat from Andre and all I can say is great service and well worth the drive!

well I went with Orleans boat world as they're close to home and I can honestly say, they've not measured up to the task at this point.
Put my boat in their shop Monday for what I thought simple warranty work to replace a defective altenator.
with promising words of encourageement from Lorne that it should get done this week no problem.
Well, it's still in the shop as the diagnosis of the problem took 2 days and the replacement part is still in limbo with a courier!
i'm now told by OBW to trace the part with the courier myself rather than them staying on top of it. of course they say that nothing can be done until the part arrrives and so their hands are tied. Seems OBW ordered it slow mail method rather than express.
I'm very disappointed. Seem getting good (not great just good) service is VERY hard to find these days.
I've signed up to do the rockland rumble tomorrow but i don't see that happening nevertheless when i'll get back on the water.

Could somebody please advise me where a good Merc dealer is in the Ottawa area!! Dealer comments are welcomed.

Not to defend Orleans Boat World, but any parts coming from the North West US (where all merc parts come from that are not stocked in Canada) can take 5 days. They use DHL shipping and they have a very bad tracking system and it can take a day for them to get back to you with a trace, many times it isn.t up to date. Merc will not ship to a Canadian dealer any other way.

I experienced the same thing over and over every time we ordered parts at Lake and Trail. It is very frustrating and there is nothing you can do to speed up the process.

well, DHL finally delivered one week later only to have it turn out to be a faulty "new" altenator.
Once installed it produce duoble voltage and blew the inline fuse on the motor. OBW tech called Merc USA and ordered another altenator but this time as a "rush". Thank god.
However, what damage could have been caused by double voltage running thru the boats/motor electrical system? Any collateral damage to other parts of my motor that i should watch out for? (starter/ignition system,etc)
I know OBW repair shop will do their best work on this issue but it still leaves a level of discontent in Merc and this situation as I'd rather be on the water fishing, especially with what seems as so little time left to get out on the water before old mother nature sends us the cold and snow.
