Hi all!!

I've been noticing alot of chit chat on trout fishing. and that there are alot of Fish-Hawkers that haven't gone trout fishing through the ice.

A couple weeks ago Pete sent me a pm in regards to trout fishing, and we were going to plan out a weekend of trout fishing.

but like i've said there's alot of people who seemed interested in a trout fishing weekend. so i'm just going to get the ball rolling to actually see who wants to come and make a fish-hawk day out of it.

so here's a poll to see if there's enough interest.

the dates haven't been set, but let's wait until there's enough ice to set a date.

Of course I am in.. . Anywhere is good for me. What kind of trout would people want to fish for????

Splake...easy fish to catch

Specks... not to bad to catch

Browns...hard fish to catch in my experience.

Rainbows...Hard but fun to catch and gets the blood flowing when one is on.

Lakers...only a few lakes where this can happen otherwise closed for the year.

As for lakes...Depends on the species

I think we have more than enough intrest for a G2G ...I might even be able to swing Jig Head into getting out for some troutsies...It's picking out a lake that everyone can potentially get to. I am sure there will be more than a few quads/sleds joining so getting gear to the lake should be no problem.

I like to fish for splake and specs and boy are they fun to catch through the ice...Katch Moore put on a little splake show first ice for us last year :)

Great idea Matt....Were not that far away now!!!

Let's here some ideas

I've never fished for trout through the ice, so this would be a new game for me. I have a Fish Trap and ice fishing gear, but any lakes would be limited to Jeep/walking access. Sounds like fun, so I would like to give'r a try.

I'm in depending on the date of course.
I have some ice fishing gear, no sled, no quad, but I'm willing to walk a Klick or two, can get snow shoes if needed.

Maybe a primer on what equipment would be needed is a good idea.

SWEET!!! This is perfect!!! it's actually happening!! good!!

as for lakes, man i know of a couple(100), eh andrew!!

brookies = easy to catch
Rainbows= easy to catch, and get big eh andrew and tast very good!
browns= they get really big, and very easy to catch (in this one particular lake, eh andrew!!!)
lakers= like Peter said, only a couple lakes in the area that are open, rest are closed for the season.

this if from my experience( been doing the trout thing for a while, so i know a few things)

I need to know if we have access to snowmobiles/quads for this get together as it will make things a little easier.

who has/needs ice gear, and what do they have, like we don't need a thousand augers, you know..... but let's get a list going of what we have and what we need.

I'd definitely be down for a trout get together. Splake would be my number one as I still have not gone fishing for them before. It will be cool trying some little nymphs under the ice and seeing what happens.

ok so let's put down what we would like to fish for, and what we can bring with us so we don't bring a hundred cars, and like i said a hundred augers.

so here's my list.

-Clam2000(heated  )
-6 inch auger (though i know some people have gas ones, so i prob. wont -bring mine)
-vex
-car(so me and 4 others, i'm coming from orleans so i can pick people up and split gas which ever way)

i don't have a quad or a skidoo
