Terry, a klick or two you say?????...well done ole Chap!!!....see what you can do when you quit smoking???Terry_F wrote:I'm in depending on the date of course.
I have some ice fishing gear, no sled, no quad, but I'm willing to walk a Klick or two, can get snow shoes if needed.
Maybe a primer on what equipment would be needed is a good idea.

For equipment if you really don't have anything then what you need is this...
A knife that will cut wood
Some ice line or really any line.
A hook
Minnows or artificial bait your choice.
Cut off a branch from a tree about 2 ft or so
Tie on line
Add hook and choice of bait.
Drop down hole that someone with a gas auger has drilled for you
Pull up fish.

Funny I heard the same thing MMA...but it must be a rumour

As for gear I have an Aqua-Vu Scout 2...a new old gamefisher flasher that I need to see if it works...10" Gas auger...and a few rods etc.... As for travel I have two skidoos that can be used and a trailer to pull behind it.
I typically pack light when I know I am off to the trout lakes...My typical items I bring are listed below..If walking in...will bring what I need and no more knowing the guys I am with will have a few things with them as well.
Heater /Propane
Food
Combos/Tip-ups
Jigs-Bait
Chair
Shelter/Sled
Thats the typical, I will go more into detail of baits and whatnot in the next few weeks...The best technique is actually some line attached to a branch as your strike indicater...very easy to set and use
I like to leave some spare propane, food, gloves and socks in the car just in case.
Never caught anything in Mosque Lake, and I know of a few others who have come off the lake empty handed as well
We fished them hard but thats trout.
Here some pics to get the juices flowing
Feisty brookies

I can fit a few comfortably in there and yes the guy at the end of the lake now has a plow come all the way up to his cottage right near the lodge. And yes a quick rip to some other lakes is possible if needed. As for the stocking Steve they have changed it to 2500 last yearTroutnMuskieHunter wrote:I 2nd that !!.....great suggestion Mike....there are some VERY nice sized Rainbows in that lake and it's stocked yearly with approx 3500/year....plus they plow almost right up to the lake...hmmmm...how much room do you have in your cottage Peter???mmaangler wrote:I think this is a great idea...I hear Mosque lake is filled with all kinds of trout!......from there, people can have the option of talking a quick sled/quad ride to Granite Lake for Splake
