Fish-o-Mania why-why-why

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fish-o-Mania why-why-why

Post by bardern »

the recent carp tread got me thinking..........

does anyone out there watch Fish-o-mania on the WFN? the shows goes on for ever and the contestents are fishing from lawn chairs for bait. The WFN must have got the broadcast rights for a song, but I find the Line Dancer infomershal better television.

It did get me thinking on a new series for next year! 8)

The Professional Bullhead Tour or the PBT. All contestents are limited to a bamboo pole no more than 12 feet long, you must catch your own dewies and any barlies consumed have to be from off-shore.... tire burning will be a definate no-no due to environmental issues.

Actually, there is nothing funnier than watching these guys sling-shotting maggots/chum out into a 2-acre pond and then putting our 50-60 foot poles.

I do like when the bugle horn sounds and the judge goes around weighing in the catches on a 1920's scale....I can here him now.....4 kilo-250!!!

The part I dont get is that the stations/spots around the pond are done by draw so you get what you get and cannot move after that.

I have lost several hours of my life to fish-o-mania and now that you mention it I don't know exactly why.

I live in England for a few years and grew up learning to fish like that.

Just to add to the mystique....in cold weather these guys KEEP THEIR MAGGOTS WARM BY KEEPING A HANDFULL AT A TIME IN THEIR MOUTH, THEN RETURNING THE WARM MAGGOTS TO THE "MAGGOT HOLDER" PUTTING MORE FORTUNATE MAGGOTS INTO THEIR MOUTH ETC ETC...in case you were wondering...they do not fish with frogs or crayfish.....

On the other side of the coin, or Atlantic, how do you think our steroid driven, walking billboard, pro bass fisherman look to them, driving $100,000 boats at 80 MPH....to catch 2 lb largemouth bass in stocked reservoirs....all the while believing that their Evangelical Christian God is going to help them come weigh-in time....

Honestly, I prefer the maggot chewers...

I cant stand the saying ... bass is an easy fish to catch!

from behalf off all bass anglers yes bass is the most common fish in tourneys.

for one you need to be SKILLED to fish this fish!

ok there everywere.

dosent mean youl get the lunkers.

LOTS of practice and BRAINS go into big bass hunters.

its not like trolling or jigging and what not.

bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch

can you tell me something else about fishing???

thats all i hear and getting pretty ?$% OFF about it!

its one thing throwing a BIG''O'' and getting a 2 lbs bass

but ANOHTER THING getting a 5 + on a buzzbait on a windy day under a fallin tree in 3 FOW .

ps : i love you joco!

24/7saying ...bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch bass is an easy fish to catch

i think your saying there easy to catch..even if your saying before you cant stand seeing easy to catch..   .

lets face it..even if peope get it to heart..there very easy to catch..

sometime the bite is off.but still..trow a spinnerbait or a top water and there you go.

i got some kids going wit me..4year old and caught lonkers at almost everycast and this was firs time out.

if the bass are there and want to bite.there easy to catch..

if there a bit mouth chut..theh a bit off work is to do.

but dont need anybass boat or 300$ st croix rod....shore fishing and a bamboo rod and a can off worm can catch any lunker around.. ..

some dont like my opinion..but deap dow.its the truth.

people and there saying make them special...

again big buiseness.,,,lures have to be baught and store have to get stuff out.

could turn any fish species in a pro competition.

procarp turmenememt or like other said cats derbu..or sturgeons derbys..etc.

again there easy to catch..

if somebody can catch 200 bass a day and more i gues there pretty easy to catch.

try to get ex.200 salmon on the fly in a river up EST..even if its full of salmon...just an ex.

oter species are a lot harder to catch. then bass....

but to ease the comment ok..sometime you have to work a bit more.. ,,and have a bit more noleage.. .

but again.....just be on water and trow some lures and you will get them to hit. ...not that complicate.

yes you have to better to be able to get tons off lonker.this is true..but here i was talking to get bass..any size..anyone can trow a lure or a worm and get a load of them frome shore.
to get monster constantly..have to be a bit better or at least fish where they are.and no how to find them .

but nobody can say there hard to catch C MON.

I enjoy fishing Period! I have fished in England and Wales . I like being on the water or on the shore. If I catch fish it's a bonus but I just enjoy everything about the sport from the books to the purchases, the bait hunting, shore lunches, fish cleaning, or just a day out in the wilderness. All or any of those is great to do.
