Gulp Alive

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Gulp Alive

Post by almontefisher »

Simple question.....Does this stuff freeze??? I usually leave some of my gear in the shack or car and was curious if it froze so that I remember to bring it in :?: :?:

i have the leeches and fish fry's and they do either freeze up or as bass addict said, thicken up.
its not the fisherman that catches the fish,, its the gear,,,

or is it the other way around? oh well...

no it doesn't you simply just have to defrost them and the crystals will turn back to liquid form

Those stupid tubs have always leaked, even the smaller containers for ice fishing. I know they re-designed the tubs for this year so it will be cool to see how they perform

I just ran out to the garage as I have a container of leeches in the gulp alive sitting in the boat from the summer

It was not frozen at all??? -20 outside too???

Anyway I like the Leeches for spring walleye on worm harness. When you are trolling for eyes and the perch start stealing your bait. These work great. I like the 5" which are hard to find.

As for hard water. Im going to bring some shinners out to the BOQ this weekend along with some muds and see what happens? If anything it will be somthing differnt for the fish to look at.

BTW - I purchased 2 of the baged minnows and placed them into a old container of alive liquid from summer. cheaper and I get a mix of sizes too.

A GULP Alive tip for everyone.
I have spent lots of time in the boat with 10 to 15 jugs of all different GULP Alive baits - the best way I have found to prevent them from leaking all over the storage compartments is the following. Take a pocket knife and cut a hole in the top seal so you do not remove it...this seems to keep a good seal and prevents the juice from leaking out around the edges.

Penutbutter jar

Post by tylercurt »

I transfered mine to a penutbutter jar, works great and more stable. Know it sounds crazy but it works for me... Stuff makes a mess of your gear if it does leak.
My 2 cents
