Valentines Day

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

You could always drop her at an All Day Spa and then go fishing .
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

If you can't stand behind our troops,
Please feel free to stand in front of them!!!

Experience is that marvellous thing that enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again

there's a jiffy photo place on hazeldean, in there with the shoppers, they do tapestries from photo's. if you have a nice pic of mom and the kids or something she'll love it, mine did! there about $100.00

A full day at the spa always scores lots of points, and it frees you up to go fishing :D

lots of luck to you

hint on the drop off at the spa and go fishing....make sure you don't have a vehicle full of fishing gear when you drop off...and make SURE you don't stink of fish when you pick her up!!!

Step 1:

Invite your mother over in the morning to make some valentines day cupcake with her....

Step 2: Run my friend and go fishing but do not look back

Step 3: bring her some flowers and take her out for a nice dinner

:D

Somebody mentioned this week.

Easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission!!!!

How about a new rod and reel for her. And when she says WTF!! Just tell her it's so you can spend more time together throughout the year not just on one day of the year. I don't know how well this will work so be prepared to duck.

Here,

Buy here a pre-paid shopping card for a BIG mall..like Rideau Center etc.
Then buy her and one of her friends tickets to see the new film "Confessions of a Shopoholic" also gift card to an East Side Mario's or something....

That way she can have a "girls" day and you can go fish.
You'll both be in a good mood later on..and well....you know...

I always appreciate a nice dinner out somewhere; don't wait 'til the last minute (you're getting close to that now) to make reservations somewhere decent.

Also, a basket of stuff like handmade soaps, bath stuff, lotions, candles, etc., is always a very nice, pampering and romantic present.

If all goes right, Brian and I (and the kids) will be ice fishing on Wolfe on Saturday. Hopefully, Cupid will shoot the fish and make them interested in what we are offering. My Mom's not feeling too great, though, so we may have to cancel our plans.

Happy Valentine's Day to all. You guys, now's your chance to do something really thoughtful for your girls.

W.

Thanks Wolfe, those are some good ideas.

I figure I can't do much worse than New Year's eve....made reservations at a nice restaraunt and things were going well until my truck got hit and my wife got food poisoning

I've found that if you do something, dinner, play or a movie, whatever, have it all planned out from soup to nuts down to the red roses presented at the proper time. This will be at hit, the fact that you took the trouble of doing it all yourself complete with her favorite things will knock her out. It doesn't have to be big or expensive, just tailored to her, that does it. Joe.
