Carp, ON - 10th Valley Fishing and Outdoors Show

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I think it means that he will be taking everything from his shop in Winchester and setting up at the Carp show. And everything actually means everything!

Petawawa Sportsman Show

Post by boaterguy »

I wonder if anyone else visited the Petawawa Sportsman Show last year. I did and really enjoyed it. Awesome Strongman Competition, among lots of other things.

As Mr T stated, we pretty much destroy our store to go to the Carp show. It's worth it though. A great show from both sides of the booth.

Not every vendor had has good experience from that show Geos.
Moving location is a very good reason not to attend!

If local vendors choose not to attend well that is their decision. It is costly to move everything, alot of effort to set-up, tear down. You usually may need additional staff etc. Sometimes the rewards don't outweigh the hassle.

Keep in mind big vendors like JB's will be there. Brian is an awsome guy and I am sure they'll will have a TON of good stuff at the Carp show. I for one like it as their muskie tackle selection is AMAZING!

No offence to the local vendors but I can visit you whenever I feel like. :D

I would be more interested in visiting the vendors from other parts of Ontario...Canada...or the US.

It is...hence why the fall show was cancelled.

I know of a few other vendors who no longer go. They did go but found the return not to be worth the hassle.

Also, why pay $$$ to go to a show to spend $$$?
I like to go and all, look around and buy a few goodies etc.
It just seems odd that you pay to go to these. It's the same as paying admittance to a mall.......

For me its $14.00 at the door, about $40 to eat.....

Not to mention if fishing and hunting gear is supposed to go up in price..20%+ I am sure that with a recession fewer people will choose to go.

CARP SHOW

Post by baitcaster »

We have not yet decided whether we will attend the Carp Show or not this year. If we do it will be a much smaller booth and we will be handing out flyers for our Grand Opening at our new location which will be taking place that same weekend (watch for details soon).

It is very expensive to go - booth space, staff, food, time to prepare, work the show and tear down and don't forget setting the store back up afterwards.

From a local vendor's point of view this is supposed to be a local show. Large vendors coming down from Toronto often hurt the vendors who have their business in the area and count on local support.

We intend to have even more specials at our Grand Opening than we would have had at the show so don't spend all your money in Carp! Make it a weekend roadtrip!
