To spear or not to spear??
It is legal in many regions of Quebec for certain species only, walleye are often included. It sounds like alot of fun, I love snorkelling and may have to try it myself.
It sounds like it could be dangerous though and not for everybody
I would like to see pics, a legally harvested fish, its all good

I've been spearfishing for the last few years. I really wish it was legal over here in Ontario and not just in Quebec.
Its great fun and exercise but is one heck of a challenge! There's definitely some skill involved.
There's some amazing vids on YouTube of spearfishing in Quebec and around the world if anyone's interested.

Stavi lost his fingers. The Special Olympis are mine now. Jeffy never loses. Plus I'm an angry individual... I like to fight... anywhere.

i would call it more spearhunting then fishing.
but i gues they want the word fish in it.?
catching a fish and keep it to eat ...by regular fishing is the same.
kill a fish to eat=kill a fish to eat.
its jsut a deferent way to go get it...more physicle..more into the nature off it..but its all the rest..to be able to go see them in there natures..how they react to stuff etc..

I guess we see things differently then. The beauty of this board. Voice "your" own opinion.pikeonthe fly wrote:Sorry, I have difficulty with equating 'spearing' and 'fishing' The two don't gel for me....fatluke wrote:As long as you stay within the law.........
I'd love to see photo's on here of spear fishing.
I've looked at all these pics and links from your posts joco... fatluke might have to get himself a Quebec license and a spear gun this summer....... it's like a meat hunters dream come true!!!!!!

I agree with this type of "fish-hunting" where you keep and eat your catch.
I am not a fan of "bow-fishing" for carp. As they are left to waste. However being an avid gardener..... A load of rotting carp never hurts the soil!!
