Turkey Fryers

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Turkey Fryers

Post by jazman »

Fish-hawk / Bobber - Please move this if it should be in another forum. Oh man was that turkey amazing on Saturday night. Far anyone who has not tried a deep fried turkey it will put a tear in your Mother's eye when she realizes those painstaking hours over a hot oven can be replaced with 1 hr for a 20 lb bird. Juicy and perfect inside and crispy and perfect outside.

I have spoken with Krystal from Baitcasters who has nice units available... please PM me for the specifics if you are interested. She has offered a little deal if we get a few folks together.

The 1st time I heard of deep fried turkey, or "crispy fried turkey" as it's known at a local restaurant here, I thought it didn't sound so great.

However...if meat could taste like candy, this is as close as you'll come. It's positively delectable! I am sure it tastes a whole lot better than it is for your arteries, though!

Ok,

It is the Grand Slam model, and I quote....

"The ones I stock are called the Grand Slam. They have a 30qt aluminum turkey pot which is also great for corn on the cob. The nice thing about these is that they have a tap on them which makes it very easy to drain the oil. They also come with a lid, thermometer and a basket with hook for cooking fish."

They are 110 bucks and will go to 100 if we get 5 or more in on the deal.

Anyone who wants one, pm me and I will quarterback the order (takes a couple weeks). I am getting one regardless but after the gleeful groans and full belly's after dinner on Saturday, I figured I would not be the only one.

Perhaps a word of warning for those who haven't done this before... you're dealing with a hot oil fryer that has caused fires before... always read the instructions carefully and follow them to a tee.... hot oil and water do not mix... as seen below !!!
