Variety?

Post by jwhite »

I'm curious to hear how many different bodies of water you all hit in one soft water season???

I am starting to think that my desire to explore a new body of water every weekend is a wee ambitious for one season.

I'm sure I'll see you out there a few times this summer in the evening. I'll be the one with the nice bass boat and no fish in the livewell.

McBay is just too close for me to pass up after a hard days work. Come home, hook up the boat and go try to catch bass until the sun goes down.....or the mosquitos force me off the water.

Atleast thirty bodies of water here. Some of those bodies will be fished alot more than once. Quebec will have some new focus this year.

Just flipped thru my log....

I was somewhat surprised to see I fished 18 different bodies of water last year during open water times...

Seems like alot but that goes from early April until mid December....so it's not too bad really....

In the boat, usually 4-5 lakes and the many miles of Ottawa River between the Swisha and Chenaux.

In the float tube add another 6 much smaller lakes.

15 last year. This season will top that.

I hit 11 lakes in 2008...living on the the Ottawa R. makes it hard to want to load up and travel to different bodies of water....if the river had Rainbows and Specks, I'd never leave .....

I'm at 12 lakes for 2008, all of which on the Quebec side. Most are bass/pike lakes, but some trout in there too. Hoping to make it closer to 15-20 this upcoming year.

Hi Guys, I hit my regular 4, and 7 more new bodies of water last year. It depends who I am fishing with, and who invites me. I like the challenge of a new body of water then sometimes I just like to go and catch some fish in my "known" areas

Just me, my dog and my Lund to worry about so we are gone almost every weekend somewhere.
Nice to see different water and meet different people. Main trip every year is our week on the Gouin Res. My dad lives on the shore in Wiarton so do some weekend runs up there for salmon, Lancaster area for perch, Swisha and quinte for walleye and of course good old PETRIE ISLAND AREA FOR WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL BITE NEXT

I proly fish 20-30 lakes during the soft water season.
Some times fish three in a day depending how the bite is or how restless I become. At least half of those are new lakes as Im always looking for the perfect one with that trophy fish. 8)
I fish alot of small back lakes and its no fun hammering the same one every weekend so each time out I try to go to a different spot.

Last soft water season I fished 13 lakes, 4 of them being new to me. This season I have 15-20 on the hit list with the majority of lakes being in Quebec. Some lakes do get fished more than others for obvious reasons.
Then there is the Ottawa River where I have fished many spots from Pembroke, all the way down to Wendover  I always try to do something different every weekend to get out of the routine of fishing the same locations all the time(Which is not always a good  ). I fish 2-3+ days a week so the change of scenery is always nice.
