cant wait to hit victoria island.

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Yep. EB Eddy Bridge. Also from the Office window I see the water above the dam by the train tracks is also open. Only a little is left along the bay by Lincoln Fields.

Or the other one. The island is accesible from either.

I swung by there yesterday while I was on a crappie hunt just to see what was going on. Baited up and threw in for fun with no results as I had figured. Lots of current and obviously dirty water, but it won't be long now. Didn't find any crappie either by the way.

Still some ice floes there at the island and thin shore ice in spots. River up top of the EB dam is open and flowing fast.

The rapids up at Lincoln Fields are teeming with gulls! Must be alot of baitfish being swept in.....

For the baitfish that survive and make themselves at home round Victoria I sland should prove to bring in some good fish!

Not to seem argumentative there Joco but I had a looksy there at lunch time.

Seems like the shore are a few thin ice floes but that's about it. I think by April 7th we'll be able to sit for cats on the bench.....

The "wildlife" is starting to come out too :D

Water is way too cold for the cats to start biting there yet. Like Joco said 2-3 weeks.

Oh for sure way to cold right now. But we are also getting above normal temps. This is why I figured 1-1.5 weeks. But 2-3 is probably more like it....I see we might get snow next week according to weatheroffice.gc.ca...

Hope not!

Joco..I must say I am looking forward to it. So is my Dad! He hasn't fished in a loooooooooong time. Its close to work and easy for his hectic schedule!

I got to give him credit...65, a Director-General and he still loves doing his job!

Be nice for him to relax for a bit after work! He moved onto a lake to spend more time fishing...LOL! He did more of that when we lived in Rothwell Heights!
