Kind of neat.. .but it's hard to cast a fly directly under you...
A gadget for those who have everything...
Tim,
A good number of us (Tubers) have been using the Smartcast 35 for some time now. While I've had a few minor problems with mine, for the most part the guys like them. No fuss with hooking them to your tube, the depth readings are good and the fish alarm, generally speaking at least lets you know that there are fish somewhere down there. LOL

Like Todd said they are quite useful in the tube and they are pretty cheap. I use it primarily for the depth and the water temp readings. I attach the transducer to a clip with a 6' length of PowerPro which then attaches to a ring on the tube. I would be nice if the batteries for the wrist screen could last a little longer but hard to quibble given how cheap it was to begin with.

).
That's awesome.. this season, when we get out tubing, I hope someone has one that I can check-out first hand...
Do you guys trail it out behind you, or keep it at the tube???
