Madawaska Headpond

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Madawaska Headpond

Post by Seaweed »

Wow .....

I must say that this body of water is amazing. I throughly enjoyed myself out there today and nearly boated a nice lunge.... got to play her a bit but she managed to throw the trailer hook off.... caught a five pound Largie... yet she went back to the nest.

This is a truely well kept secret. Nice structure that will produce many good fish year round. The launch was nice but needs a dock. I was alone so it was a bit tricky.

I met up with Big Kurt and we talked muskie for a good little while... I got some good tips and we will be hooking up to try our luck together another time. Saw Big-O fly by and I tried hollering to you on Channel 4 FRS and I saw you stop but then you took off... so didn't get a chance to chat.

RJ this is a great spot .... thanks for the help finding it. Anytime you get the itch give me a shout.

Where is the Madawaska headpond - is that the portion of the lake just above the dam, or just below it near the launch in Arnprior?

PS - have room for 1 if any boat-less hawk talkers are interested and can scare up their own life jacket (we don't have any extras).

We used two different radio's to try and answer you Mine and big-o's :? and we were talking with my other brother out on the water If we had more time we would of toured over to see you but I had to get back to go out to dinner and the slots :? . I should have stayed fishing and my wallet would have been a little thicker

Boy do I know that body of water. My brother and I fish there for many years, one of the best spot for walleyes, I know about a dozen spots there, every time we fished there we always caught our limit. Also there is great bass pike and muskie, and dont foget abought the great population of nice big perch.

Had an nearly uneventful day today.... :?

2nd cast of the day into a shallow point with my favorite bucktail...burnin' it across the tip of this fallen tree...a nice skie flies out of the tree and hammers it....2 seconds later...shes unpegged...

Now usually when that happens to me...I'm pooched for the day...and that's what happened...

I did get a walleye on a bucktail though... :? ...should turn into a walleye guy...that's all I seem to get these days!.. :D
